About Simply Mollywood

Simply Mollywood is an independent digital publication about Malayalam cinema and pop culture, based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

We began as an Instagram community, @simply.mollywood, where a large and loyal audience of Malayalam film fans came every day for news, first looks and box-office talk. simplymollywood.com is the home of that community on the web: a place for complete, sourced reporting that you can read, search and share.

What we cover

• News on Malayalam films, from announcements and shoots to release dates and casting.
• Box office tracking for new releases, with figures drawn from trade sources.
• OTT releases: when and where films stream, platform by platform.
• Celebrities and films: profile and movie pages that bring together everything we have published about each one.
• Reviews, trailers, interviews and exclusives.

Malayalam cinema is our home ground. Over time we will grow to cover the wider South Indian film industry, including Tamil, Telugu and Kannada cinema.

Who makes Simply Mollywood

Simply Mollywood is run by a small Kerala-based team of writers and editors who follow Malayalam cinema every day. Every story is reviewed and approved by an editor before it is published, and each article carries the writer’s byline, the date it was published and the date it was last updated.

How we report and verify

We publish a story only when it comes from an official source, such as a production house, the film's makers, an actor's verified account or an official trailer, or when at least two reliable news outlets have reported it. We name and link to our sources. We do not publish rumours or gossip about people's private lives. Box-office numbers are estimates and are labelled as such. We use software tools, including AI, to help us track news and prepare first drafts; a member of our team checks and approves every story before it goes live. Read our Editorial Policy for the full details.

Mistakes and feedback

If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Write to contact@simplymollywood.com or see our Corrections Policy.

Ownership and funding

Simply Mollywood is independently owned. No film studio, distributor or streaming platform owns or funds it. We are funded by advertising and by brand partnerships, and any paid content is clearly labelled as such. Advertisers have no say over our news coverage.
