Fahadh Faasil
Seven years passed after Fahadh Faasil's first film before he acted again. He was 20 when he began in his father Fazil's romance Kaiyethum Doorath (2002), and when it did not succeed he stayed away. Born in Alappuzha on 8 August 1982, he came back through the anthology Kerala Cafe (2009). Chaappa Kurishu and Akam, both 2011 releases, got him noticed and together won him the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor. He acts and produces, mostly in Malayalam, with Tamil films alongside. The years 2012 and 2013 settled things, with 22 Female Kottayam, Diamond Necklace, Annayum Rasoolum, Amen, North 24 Kaatham and Artist arriving in quick succession. Artist and North 24 Kaatham brought him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, while 22 Female Kottayam and North 24 Kaatham won him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Malayalam. He played Das in Bangalore Days (2014), and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017) earned him the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Take Off, Varathan, Joji, Kumbalangi Nights, Malik and the Tamil film Vikram are among his other films, as is Aavesham (2024), where he played Ranjith Gangadharan. He is married to actor Nazriya Nazim. The couple co-own the production house Fahadh Faasil and Friends, and he is credited as a producer of Premalu (2024).
