Sam C.S.

Born in Munnar, Kerala, into a Tamil family, Sam C.S. composes, produces, writes lyrics and sings, mostly for Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. He earned MCA and MBA degrees from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, and worked at a software company before turning to music, assisting other composers and writing jingles. The horror film Orr Eravuu was his first Tamil film, followed by the scientific thriller Ambuli. An early break came with the musical thriller Mellisai, later released as Puriyatha Puthir. The jingle work led him to the director duo Pushkar-Gayathri, who brought him on for Vikram Vedha. Its album and background score topped the charts, and he scored the film's 2022 remake as well. In 2018 V. A. Shrikumar Menon picked him for the Mohanlal film Odiyan. Kaithi, Adanga Maru, NOTA, RDX, Pushpa 2: The Rule and Mahavatar Narsimha are among his other scores. His 2026 releases include Immortal and Sajeev Pazhoor's courtroom drama Enna Vilai, now streaming on Netflix. He has also scored Sathyavan Savithiri, a Tamil courtroom drama written and directed by Praveen S. Vijaay, with Keerthy Suresh and Mysskin, which releases worldwide on 20 November 2026.
