Corrections Policy
Last Updated: April 2026 | simplymollywood.com
Simply Mollywood is committed to accuracy in all published content. When errors occur — as they inevitably can in fast-paced digital journalism — we correct them promptly, transparently, and without concealment. This Corrections Policy outlines how we handle factual errors, misleading information, and content updates.
1. Our Correction Principles
- We never silently alter published articles in a way that changes the meaning of the original without public disclosure
- All significant corrections are appended to the original article with a dated and timestamped correction notice
- We do not delete articles to avoid accountability — content is corrected in place with full transparency
- Corrections appear prominently at the top or bottom of the affected article and are never buried
- We correct errors regardless of their source — whether identified internally, by the subject of the story, or by a reader
2. Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
Spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, formatting issues, and non-material factual corrections (such as a misspelled name or incorrect film title) are corrected and logged in our internal corrections register. A minor correction note may be added at the editor’s discretion.
Significant Corrections
A visible correction notice is appended to the article when:
- A factual claim in the article is incorrect and materially affects the meaning of the story
- A quote has been misattributed or inaccurately reproduced
- A headline was misleading or factually inaccurate
- A source has been incorrectly identified
- Statistical or numerical data was reported inaccurately
The correction notice states the nature of the error, the correct information, and the date and time the correction was made. Example format: Correction (April 8, 2026, 3:45 PM IST): An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated [error]. This has been corrected to [accurate information].
Retractions
A full retraction is issued when an article is found to be substantially false, fabricated, or based on a fundamentally flawed source. Retracted articles are not deleted but are clearly marked as retracted at the top, with an explanation. A retraction notice is published as a standalone article where the original story received significant traffic.
3. Updates to Developing Stories
When a developing or breaking story receives new factual information after initial publication, the article is updated with new content appended and labelled with an ‘Updated: [Date and Time IST]’ timestamp. The original reporting remains intact above the update.
4. How to Request a Correction
Readers, subjects of stories, or their representatives are welcome to request a correction by writing to:
Email: [email protected]
Please include the full URL of the article, the specific claim you believe to be inaccurate, and any supporting evidence or documentation.
We will acknowledge receipt within 48 hours and aim to resolve the matter within 5 working days. If we determine a correction is not warranted, we will explain our reasoning.
5. Corrections Register
Simply Mollywood maintains an internal corrections register that logs all significant corrections made to published content. This register is reviewed periodically by the editorial team to identify recurring error patterns and improve our reporting standards.
