Aditi Balan
Aditi Balan practised as an advocate before turning to acting. Born in Chennai in 1991, she got her big opportunity in 2017 with the title role in Aruvi, which became one of that year's major successes. Critics praised her performance, which won her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – Tamil, and Film Companion later named the role among the decade's hundred best performances. Tamil and Malayalam films account for most of her work. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram took her into Telugu cinema in 2024. She is in the ensemble of Bouma, a mystery thriller written and directed by Rejin S. Babu, the director of Pendulum, with Vineeth, Dileesh Pothan and Sagar Surya leading it. The film is planned in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, and Dileesh Pothan's company Bhavana Release is handling its distribution.
