Arnold Vosloo

Arnold Vosloo's first Telugu film casts him as Sir Theodore Hector, the British officer who is the antagonist of Rahul Sankrityan's historical action drama Ranabaali. Led by Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, the film released worldwide on 16 October 2026. The South African and American actor was born on 16 June 1962 in Pretoria to two stage actors, studied drama at the Technikon Pretoria and started in South African theatre. There he won several Dalro Awards for plays including Don Juan and Hamlet and became a regular at Pretoria's State Theatre. Film followed in 1984 with Boetie Gaan Border Toe, and later Circles in a Forest. In the late 1980s he moved to the United States, where he made his American film debut in Gor (1987) and also worked on stage, including Salomé (1992) with Al Pacino. John Woo's Hard Target (1993) started a run of villain roles, and he took over the title role of Darkman in two sequels. His best-known part is the high priest Imhotep in The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001). Agent Cody Banks, Blood Diamond and two G.I. Joe films, in which he played Zartan, are also on his list. On television he played the terrorist Habib Marwan in the fourth season of 24 and appeared in NCIS and Bosch.
