Jeo Baby

When The Great Indian Kitchen (2021) won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film, Jeo Baby also took the state award for Best Screenplay. His fourth film, starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan, had premiered on an OTT platform, and it was later remade in Tamil and, as Mrs., in Hindi. He has said its reception gave him the confidence to take bigger risks with Kaathal – The Core (2023), a drama starring Mammootty, who also backed the project, and Jyothika. Jeo Baby himself appears in it as Kuttayi's stepfather. He writes, directs and occasionally acts in Malayalam cinema. Film studies at St. Joseph College of Communication in Changanacherry gave him his training, and he entered the industry in 2010 as a television writer, working on the early episodes of the sitcoms Marimayam, Uppum Mulakum and M80 Moosa. His first feature as director, 2 Penkuttikal, came out in 2016, and Kunju Daivam followed in 2017. Kilometers and Kilometers (2020), led by Tovino Thomas, skipped theatres because of the pandemic and premiered on television before streaming. Human, which he is writing and directing with Roshan Mathew in the lead, has been announced, and its title poster was unveiled in Kochi.
