Kathir

College classes by day and shooting in the evenings: that was how Kathir made his first film, Vikram Sukumaran's Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013), in which he played a village youngster. Produced by composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, the film was well reviewed and his performance was noticed. The Tamil actor was born on 21 September 1991 in Komarapalayam. Anucharan's thriller Kirumi (2015), which travelled to international film festivals, brought him critical praise. In 2017 he appeared in Ennodu Vilayadu and in Vikram Vedha with R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Pariyerum Perumal (2018), produced by Pa. Ranjith, won him wide recognition, and in Sigai (2019) he played an effeminate man. Sathru, Jada and Sarbath are among his other films, along with Atlee's sports drama Bigil (2019), where he was a football coach. Pushkar-Gayathri's Prime Video thriller series Suzhal: The Vortex, which he starred in in 2022, drew a strong response across India. He also had a lead part in the Malayalam film I'm Game (2026) with Dulquer Salmaan, which began streaming on JioHotstar from 16 October.
