Vijay Deverakonda

A volatile surgeon in Arjun Reddy (2017) earned Vijay Deverakonda the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu, and that film, with Pelli Choopulu (2016) before it, made him a leading man. Born in Hyderabad on 9 May 1989, the Telugu actor and producer debuted in Nuvvila (2011) and was noticed for a supporting part in the coming-of-age drama Yevade Subramanyam (2015), which brought him a Nandi Award. His younger brother, Anand Deverakonda, also acts in Telugu films. Mahanati, Geetha Govindam and Taxiwaala, all 2018 releases, were commercial successes. In 2019 he set up the production house King of the Hill Entertainment, which made Meeku Maathrame Cheptha and Pushpaka Vimanam. He also launched the clothing label Rowdy Wear and co-owns the volleyball team Hyderabad Black Hawks. In Kalki 2898 AD (2024) he was Arjuna. Ranabaali, a historical action drama set during a Madras famine and directed by Rahul Sankrityan, opened worldwide on 16 October 2026 with him as Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali; Rashmika Mandanna, to whom he is married, and Arnold Vosloo co-star. Coming up is the Telugu film Rowdy Janardhana, in which he plays the title role.
