The makers of Ram Charan’s rural sports drama Peddi have announced that the theatrical trailer will release on May 18, 2026. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film arrived with a new poster showing Ram Charan in a raw, intense look meant to signal a long journey for his character.
Produced on a large scale by Vriddhi Cinemas, the film is being positioned as a pan-India release, with a cast that includes Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu Sharma. It aims to combine sports action with rural, emotional drama.
Music and preparation
Much of the early buzz has come from the soundtrack by A.R. Rahman, with tracks such as “Chikiri Chikiri” and “Raa Raa Rei” becoming popular ahead of release. The Buchi Babu Sana–Rahman pairing has been a talking point in itself. Ram Charan’s preparation has also drawn attention, with the actor reportedly undergoing rigorous training to play a sportsman from a rural background — a more grounded role after his recent big films.
Release plans
The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026, positioning it as one of the summer’s bigger titles. The makers are planning a promotional tour across major Indian cities after the trailer launch, and the presence of Shiva Rajkumar is expected to help the film in the Karnataka market.
