Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s Quiet Meal Triggers Bengaluru Traffic Chaos

A low-key meal turned into a public event when Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma visited the well-known Central Tiffin Room (CTR) in Bengaluru. Word of their arrival spread quickly, and within minutes hundreds of fans gathered outside, congesting the surrounding roads and prompting local authorities to step in to manage the traffic.

A surprise for the staff

Restaurant director Ganesh Poojari said he initially ignored the calls about the couple’s arrival, assuming it was a prank, and was taken aback when two cars actually pulled up. “I got a final call saying they were at the corner,” he recalled. “We quickly made them comfortable, as they were there with their families.” Anushka reportedly told the staff she had been craving the local dishes for a long time and wanted to make time for the visit despite a tight schedule.

Police step in

The size of the crowd led the Bengaluru police to issue an advisory asking the restaurant to notify them in advance of any future high-profile visits, to avoid roadblocks and keep things safe. The episode was a reminder of the couple’s pull — particularly in Bengaluru, where Kohli is a local favourite — with the administration having to work to clear the streets while the two enjoyed their meal.
