Two weeks ahead of its May 21 release, Drishyam 3 is already seeing unusually strong pre-release demand. More than 100 special fans’ shows have been charted across Kerala and several international markets, with audiences booking well before any reviews are out.
In overseas markets, advances for the premiere and Day 1 have crossed $75,000, and total opening-weekend pre-sales have reached around $115,000. Worldwide advances have passed the ₹1.50 crore mark even before regular public bookings fully opened — figures that point to a strong opening for Jeethu Joseph’s film.
Demand building ahead of release
Mohanlal returns as Georgekutty, and interest in how the family’s story concludes is clearly high. With the first shows scheduled for 8:00 AM worldwide, some cinemas are reportedly adding midnight screenings to meet demand.
This level of pre-release business is rare for a thriller and is usually associated with big action films. In this case, it reflects years of brand loyalty built up across the franchise. As bookings open more widely, the advance numbers are likely to climb further.
