Kamal Haasan – Rajinikanth Reunion Film: Trisha in Talks for Nelson’s Mega Project

One of Tamil cinema’s most long-awaited projects — a reunion film bringing together Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth — is reportedly moving closer to reality. According to recent reports, director Nelson Dilipkumar is in talks to helm the film under the Red Giant Movies banner, and the makers are said to be in discussions with Trisha Krishnan for a key female lead.

Trisha has history with both stars. She has worked with Kamal Haasan in Manmadhan Ambu and Thoongaa Vanam and is part of his upcoming Thug Life, and she shared the screen with Rajinikanth in Petta. Joining this project would be a notable addition to her filmography.

Scale of the project

Reports suggest Trisha’s fee for the film could be around ₹12 crore. Red Giant Movies is said to be planning the project on a large scale, and with Nelson coming off the success of Jailer with Rajinikanth, expectations around his involvement are high.

The two actors last worked together in the early 1980s, so a reunion has been a long-held wish for fans across generations — made more appealing by their well-known off-screen friendship despite a long professional rivalry. Official confirmation is still awaited, and more details on the rest of the cast and crew are likely as the project moves into pre-production.
