Daayra (2026)

Daayra is a Hindi crime thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar, who co-wrote it with Yash Keswani and Seema Agarwal. Described as inspired by real events, it places two police officers on opposite sides of a contested case. DCP Raman Kumar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) becomes a nationally known figure after he leads an encounter with the suspects in a rape-and-murder case. DCP Ajooni Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who holds that justice must come through legal channels, is assigned to examine whether that encounter can be justified. The film follows the two officers as it weighs questions of law, justice and morality. Pragati Mishra, Prammod Sanghi, Upendra Chauhan and Seema Azmi appear in supporting roles. Daayra is Meghna Gulzar's third film with Junglee Pictures after Talvar and Raazi, and it is co-produced with Pen Studios. It also marks the first screen pairing of Prithviraj and Kareena. Amit Trivedi and Ketan Sodha compose the music, Gulzar writes the lyrics and Saurabh Goswami handles the camera. The film released in theatres in September 2026.
