Prithviraj Sukumaran turns 44 today. More than two decades after his debut, he works as an actor, a director and a producer, and all three sides of that career are busy this year.
The actor
Prithviraj made his debut in Ranjith's Nandanam (2002). This year he played opposite Kareena Kapoor in Meghna Gulzar's Hindi crime thriller Daayra, which released on September 18 in Hindi and Malayalam. Next, he plays the villain Kumbha in SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Rajamouli has announced April 7, 2027, as its worldwide release date.
In Malayalam, his action drama Khalifa, directed by Vysakh, is now streaming online.
The director
Prithviraj turned director with Lucifer (2019), starring Mohanlal, and followed it with the sequel L2: Empuraan (2025).
The producer
Through Prithviraj Productions, which he runs with his wife Supriya Menon, he has also taken on new projects. In September, the banner shared photos from the pooja of Odiyan: The Age of Illusion, a project with Manju Warrier, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Adar Poonawalla.
