Why it matters
Most Malayalam films land on one streaming platform. Khalifa is spread across seven.
That gives viewers more choice, but also more confusion. Check the language you want before you pick a platform.
Simply South streams outside India, and Starzplay serves the Middle East. Gulf audiences are a big market for Malayalam films.
Trailer and plot
Khalifa follows Mambarakkal Aamir Ali, played by Prithviraj. He is a shop owner pulled into a gold smuggling racket.
Mohanlal appears near the end as Aamir's grandfather, Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali.
Cast and crew
Neil Nitin Mukesh makes his Malayalam debut in the film. Malavika Sharma, Krithi Shetty, Shammi Thilakan, Rajisha Vijayan, Mohini, Indrans and Sanju Sivram are also in the cast.
Jinu V Abraham wrote the script. Jakes Bejoy composed the music, Jomon T John shot the film and Chaman Chacko edited it.
Khalifa reunites Vysakh and Prithviraj after Pokkiri Raja.
Pokkiri Raja released in 2010 and also starred Mammootty. Khalifa marks the pair's second film together.
