From no date to March 19 in one day
On the morning of October 23, Fauzi had no announced release date. That was the position in our Fauzi glimpse story, when the makers confirmed that a glimpse would play with 418 in theatres.
Through the day, Mythri kept fans guessing with a "Declassifying File Num : #25" post that promised a video. That video, the teaser, went up on YouTube later that day, and at 9:36 pm IST Mythri's X post put a date on the film: "In Cinemas March 19th 2027." The teaser's own end card reads "19th MARCH 2027 WORLDWIDE RELEASE".
So within a single day, Fauzi went from an undated project to one with a fixed release date.
Prabhas's 2027 calendar
The date gives Prabhas two dated releases in 2027. Fauzi comes first, in March. Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, follows on October 29, 2027. Vanga confirmed that date in his October 18 X post, and the Spirit handle has posted only a birthday wish since, with no change to it.
That leaves a gap of a little over seven months between the two films.
What the teaser shows
The teaser runs 2 minutes 32 seconds. It opens with a card reading "AT THE HEIGHT OF WORLD WAR II, NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE MET ADOLF HITLER." over a snowy black-and-white street, with period cars and a truck marked "Berlin".
Next is a black-and-white office scene with swastika flags, a Nazi officer in a peaked cap and a bespectacled man in a suit. The suited man is presumably Bose. That is our reading; no caption names him, and the actor is not identified.
Then come the cards "INDIA'S BIGGEST REBEL SOLDIER" and "MOST WANTED 1932". In colour, Prabhas appears bearded and bloodied, firing a mounted gatling-style gun inside a tent. The title card reads "FAUZI – A BATTALION WHO FIGHTS ALONE", and the teaser ends on "HAPPY REBELS DAY" over a close-up of Prabhas smoking.
Who is making it
Hanu Raghavapudi writes and directs. Fauzi is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, and co-produced by T-Series, with Bhushan Kumar as producer. Vishal Chandrashekhar composes the music, Sudeep Chatterjee is the cinematographer and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao edits.
The Malayali angle
The end card lists Malayalam among the release languages, so Kerala audiences can expect a Malayalam version on March 19. For Malayalam viewers, the link to watch is Salaar Part 1, in which Prithviraj Sukumaran played Vardharaja Mannaar. As our Prabhas birthday story noted, that shared history is a reason Malayalam viewers follow his next moves.
More on the film is on our Fauzi page.
