OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood (2026)

OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood is an upcoming Tamil action film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, his next project after Amaran. Mammootty plays Burma Karthikeyan, also called Siya or 'The Elder One', a smuggler whose name commands fear among local people and the police alike, and who describes himself as gold with traces of copper. Dhanush leads the film opposite him, with Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah also in the cast. The film brings Mammootty back to Tamil cinema and marks Naseeruddin Shah's Tamil debut. Dhanush also produces, alongside Shraddha Agrawal and Azmat Jagmag, under Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios. Sai Abhyankkar composes the music, Ezhil Arasu K is the cinematographer and R. Kalaivanan is the editor. The release, first planned for 16 October, was moved to 20 November 2026 to avoid a clash with Jailer 2.
