Joju George is going big on fresh faces for his second film as director. Paripadi reportedly has over 100 newcomers in its cast, and Kavya Film Company has already put out its first song, Paatt Paripadi, on its official YouTube channel.
The newcomers are reported to have gone through three or four months of training before the shoot. Reports differ on the exact length. Onmanorama put it at three months in April, while KeralaTV later reported nearly four.
Where Paripadi is set
Paripadi is set in Thrissur, Joju's home district, and is mostly shot in Chalakudy. The makers are reported to describe it as the same genre as Pani on a bigger canvas. There is no official word that the two films are connected, so Paripadi is a separate film, not a sequel.
Joju is reported to play a character called Deluxe Benny. Saiju Kurup appears in a guest role, as reported by Kerala Kaumudi. The cast is also reported to include Vineeth Thattil David, Jaya Kurup, Bitto Davis, Rithu Manthra, Aiswaria Chandran, Dilshanaa and Shibin S Raghav.
The team behind the camera
Rajeev Ravi is the cinematographer, and Anbariv handle the stunts, with both names on the official poster. Venu Kunnappilly produces under the Kavya Film Company banner.
The music marks Yuvan Shankar Raja's debut as a composer in Malayalam. He is not new to Malayalam film music, though, since he sang Kadal Pole for Kummattikali in 2024. Our Paatt Paripadi story has the song's details, and our birthday story covers how Joju got here after Pani.

Pani's new faces now
Pani introduced newcomers of its own, and two of them, Sagar Surya and Junaiz V.P., have kept busy since.
Sagar Surya: He plays Jacob in Bouma, Rejin S Babu's thriller with Vineeth and Dileesh Pothan, reported for November 12. He also leads Zera, directed by Sujith Vaassudev for Kavya Film Company.
Junaiz V.P.: He is reported to be in Prempaatta, directed by Aamir Pallikkal, with Saiju Kurup and Mamta Mohandas. A ticketing site lists it for November 27. He is not reported in the Paripadi cast.
When to expect it
The makers announced a December release in the Christmas season, as reported by Cinema Express in July. No date has been announced yet.
