NBK111 High-Octane Action Glimpse ‘Entry of an Era’ Unleashed on Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 65th Birthday

To mark Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 65th birthday, the makers of his 111th film released a 91-second glimpse titled “Entry of an Era.” Working under the title NBK111, the teaser offered the first proper look at the project and drew a strong response online, setting the actor in a sleek, modern world rather than his familiar faction-drama territory.

The campaign had been building for weeks. An earlier pre-look poster showed a sword planted in a rain-soaked, smoke-filled landscape, reflecting bullet casings in the blade, with the tagline “No More Vintage, Only New Age.” The new glimpse follows through on that, presenting Balakrishna in a sharp contemporary avatar against a Mumbai underworld backdrop, handling heavy gun choreography on a motorcycle — pointing to a gangster story with a more youthful, stylised look.

A two-timeline story

Although early reports had described the film as a straightforward actioner, the birthday reveal confirmed that NBK111 is a large-scale historical action drama spread across two timelines — one set in the distant past and one in the present — with a substantial visual-effects component to tie the eras together. Director Gopichand Malineni began developing the script after finishing his Hindi debut, Jaat. This is his second film with Balakrishna, following their 2023 hit Veera Simha Reddy, which grossed over ₹134 crore worldwide.

The technical team has become a talking point in itself. Cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap, known for the look of the Kantara films, handles the visuals, and composer S. Thaman — who praised Kashyap’s camerawork ahead of the launch — provides the score.

Cast and release plans

Producer Venkata Satish Kilaru is backing the film on a large budget under Vriddhi Cinemas. Nayanthara leads the female cast, continuing her on-screen pairing with Balakrishna, and Samuthirakani has a key dramatic role. Manoj Manchu, who confirmed his involvement in May 2026, plays the main antagonist, setting up the central conflict.

The unit recently wrapped an action schedule in Hyderabad before moving to outdoor locations. Balakrishna comes into the project off his 2025 hit Daaku Maharaaj. The final title and character teasers are expected through the monsoon months, with Vriddhi Cinemas targeting a worldwide release on November 20, 2026.
