Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s move from cinema to politics has prompted a fresh round of speculation — this time from astrologer Radhan Pandit Vetrivel, who earlier drew attention for predicting Vijay’s election win. Speaking on a Tamil news channel, Vetrivel claimed that Vijay is destined to become Prime Minister of India, describing his horoscope as a “photocopy” of Narendra Modi’s.
The prediction, and the pushback
Vetrivel went further, suggesting the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader will face no serious political competition for the next 30 to 40 years and is unlikely to lose in his career. The comparison to Modi set off debate online. Some followers point to the astrologer’s earlier correct call on the TVK’s assembly performance; others have dismissed the claims as overblown, arguing the new Chief Minister should be left to focus on governance rather than “destiny” narratives.
Governance and a final film
For now, Vijay is balancing his administrative role with his last commitments in cinema. His final film, Jananayagan, is in post-production, with a theatrical release reportedly expected soon — a project seen as a bridge between his acting career and his political one. With the V.D. Satheesan swearing-in due in Kerala around the same period, Vijay remains a prominent figure in South Indian politics, whatever weight one gives the astrological forecasts.
