Aamir Khan Anti Inflammatory Diet: How the Perfectionist Lost 18 Kgs Without Exercise

Aamir Khan has drawn attention for a noticeable physical change, appearing considerably leaner ahead of his 61st birthday after losing around 18 kilograms. According to the actor, the change didn’t come from intense gym sessions but from an anti-inflammatory diet.

In a recent interview, Khan said the weight loss was actually a side effect of a different goal: he adopted the diet to manage chronic migraines. “It worked like magic for me,” he said, noting that his headaches eased and the weight came off along the way. His experience has prompted some discussion about eating for overall health rather than focusing only on calories.

The idea behind it

Nutritionists note that chronic inflammation can make weight management harder. Factors like stress, poor sleep and high sugar intake can trigger inflammatory responses in the body that affect hormones such as insulin and leptin, which help regulate blood sugar and hunger. Khan said he cut out processed oils, refined sugars and junk food — an approach others, including Vidya Balan, have spoken about as well.

A general approach, not a prescription

Broadly, the diet emphasises whole foods such as fatty fish, leafy greens and fruit, along with consistent sleep and stress management. It’s worth remembering that results vary from person to person, and anyone considering a significant change to their diet is best advised to check with a doctor or a qualified nutritionist first. For Khan, the shift appears to have helped both his migraines and his overall wellbeing as he lines up his next projects.
