Alia Bhatt continued a strong run at the 79th Cannes Film Festival with a red-carpet look at the screening of La Vie D’Une Femme. The 33-year-old actor wore a floor-length lavender gown with delicate noodle straps and a flowing silhouette, but it was her jewellery that drew the most attention.
The standout was a lace choker that set off the soft pastel of the dress. By keeping her makeup and styling pared back, she let the piece take centre stage — a choice fans and fashion watchers praised.
Representing Indian cinema
Away from the red carpet, Bhatt took on an ambassadorial role for the Indian film industry. Earlier in the day she wore an ivory saree-inspired ensemble to inaugurate the Bharat Pavilion alongside filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, where they unveiled the official poster for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The appearance also marked the launch of the India Film Guide, an initiative aimed at positioning India as a destination for international film productions.
A strong Indian presence
Bhatt was one of several Indian names at the festival, joining Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Karan Johar, along with Aditi Rao Hydari, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria, and South Indian representation from Kalyani Priyadarshan and Ammy Virk. Bhatt had made her 2026 Cannes debut earlier in a peach-toned Tamara Ralph gown with a dramatic drape.
