The promotion for the upcoming romantic comedy Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has begun. Bhavana Studios released the film’s colourful first-look poster, drawing plenty of attention online. The film pairs Nivin Pauly with Mamitha Baiju for the first time in a family entertainer, and the makers have locked the Onam 2026 window for its worldwide release, making it one of the season’s bigger contenders.
The Premalu team, back together
A big part of the interest is the team behind the camera. The film is written and directed by Girish A.D., known for Thanneer Mathan Dinangal and the hit Premalu, and he has co-written it with his Premalu collaborator Kiran Josey. It is produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios, the banner behind Premalu.
For Mamitha Baiju, the film continues her working relationship with Girish A.D. after Super Sharanya and Premalu. For Nivin Pauly, fresh off the well-received Sarvam Maya, it is his first film with Bhavana Studios and a return to the light comedy he is known for. Shooting began on New Year’s Day in Kochi and wrapped in May 2026, with the film now in post-production.
Cast and crew
The poster points to a neighbourhood-centred, ensemble comedy. Alongside the leads, the cast includes Mamitha’s Premalu co-star Sangeeth Prathap, as well as Shyam Mohan, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Bindu Panicker and Srinda — the kind of ensemble that suits Girish A.D.’s situational humour.
On the technical side, Vishnu Vijay composes the music, Ajmal Sabu handles the cinematography and Akash Joseph Varghese the editing. With a promotional push planned through the monsoon months, the film is set up to make the most of the festival crowds.
