Kalyan Jewellers' annual Navaratri celebration drew a long list of Malayalam stars to Thrissur on Thursday, October 15. The event was held at the Kalyan family residence at Sobha City in Puzhakkal.
The Malayalam stars
Jayaram came with his family, including Parvathy and Kalidas Jayaram. Dileep and Kavya Madhavan arrived with their daughter Mahalakshmi. Rahman also came with his family, and Priyadarshan came with Lissy.
Others at the event included Rajisha Vijayan, Nikhila Vimal, Navya Nair, Narain, Shruti Ramachandran, Pearle Maaney, and singers Sujatha Mohan and Shweta Mohan. Jayaram and Kalidas, Rahman, and Priyadarshan and Lissy were also reported among the guests.
Guests from beyond Kerala
The guest list stretched well beyond Malayalam cinema. Nagarjuna came with his son Akhil Akkineni, and Sreeleela, Malavika Mohanan, Sivakarthikeyan, Saif Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Bobby Deol, Malaika Arora and Prabhu also attended, according to the two reports.
An annual tradition
The celebration is held every year. Last year's guests included Tabu, Malaika Arora, Karisma Kapoor and Genelia, while Katrina Kaif, Shilpa Shetty, Janhvi Kapoor and Nagarjuna attended in 2023. Mammootty has attended in earlier years too.
Vijay's visit called off
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay was expected at the celebrations on Friday, October 16, reports said, in what would have been his first Kerala visit since taking office. The trip has been called off. Reports suggest it was cancelled because of heavy rain and that he is returning to Chennai by private plane.
