Binu Pappu

Before cinema, Binu Pappu spent 13 years as an animator in Bengaluru. Born in Chennai as Binu Padmadalakshan, he is the son of the veteran actor Kuthiravattam Pappu, and he studied for a BA in History at Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode. He acts and works as an assistant director in Malayalam films, and his acting debut was Salim Baba's Gunda, alongside Kalabhavan Mani and Tini Tom. He acted for Aashiq Abu in Gangster (2014) and Rani Padmini (2015), and critics responded well to his Joy Pulimoottil in the crime thriller Operation Java (2021). Helen, One and Bheemante Vazhi are among his credits, along with smaller parts as a pilot in Uyare (2019) and a jail warden in Lucifer (2019). Behind the camera he assisted Aashiq Abu on Mayaanadhi, Virus and Naradan, and was an assistant director on Ambili, Halal Love Story, One and Thallumaala. In Thudarum (2025) he played SI Benny C. Kurian of the Perunad police station. Orijinal, now in theatres, features him, as does the upcoming film Neekkam.
