Neekkam

Neekkam is an upcoming Malayalam drama thriller that marks the directorial debut of Jagan Shaji Kailas, son of filmmaker Shaji Kailas, working from a script by Vibin Balachandran. Dileep, in his 152nd film, plays a serious character that the makers describe as a departure from his earlier roles, and Veena Nandakumar is the female lead. The teaser places the story in and around a police station, following Dileep's character through a police investigation and hinting at a mysterious past that includes dealings with thieves and prisoners. An earlier report suggested that a father-daughter relationship sits at the centre of the story. The film carries the tagline 'Beyond destiny'. The supporting cast includes Siddique, Ashokan, Binu Pappu, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Ramya Suresh. Sandeep Senan, Alex E. Kurian and Jayantilal Gada produce under Urvassi Theatres, Pen Studios and Kaakka Stories. Mujeeb Majeed composes the music, Ajay David Kachappilly is the cinematographer and Sooraj ES is the editor. The film was announced in April 2026, and a release date is yet to be announced.
