As Drishyam 3 nears release, Mohanlal has been busy with promotions, and in a recent interview he shared a light-hearted personal quirk that quickly did the rounds online: electronic devices, he says, tend to malfunction around him.
“I have this problem. If I touch electronic equipment, it goes bad,” the actor said with a smile, adding that it has become a running joke on his sets. “If I walk toward the monitor on set, the technician will often ask me, ‘Sir, could you please stand a bit further away?'” He put it down to possible static electricity, noting that his own phones and televisions tend to wear out faster than usual.
Fans responded with amusement, with many joking that whatever “Lalettan” touches doesn’t break but turns to gold, while others shared their own experiences with static.
Georgekutty returns this May
Beyond the anecdote, the focus remains on the return of Georgekutty. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 releases on May 21, 2026, with its teaser and trailer already drawing strong viewership. The film reunites the original family cast, including Meena, Ansiba and Esther Anil, with a supporting cast that features Murali Gopy, Asha Sharath and Siddique — setting up another round of the suspense the franchise is known for.
