Mookuthi Amman 2 (2026)
Mookuthi Amman 2 is an upcoming Tamil devotional thriller directed by Sundar C, who co-wrote it with Venkat Raghavan, and is scheduled to release on 6 November 2026. Nayanthara returns as the goddess Mookuthi Amman, and the trailer indicates she also appears as a shy police officer. The teaser sets up a story across two timelines: in one, a queen gives herself up to a deity to protect her young prince while soldiers hunt the child; in the other, the goddess comes down to earth. The film is mounted as a large-scale mythological fantasy. Duniya Vijay, Regina Cassandra, Urvashi and Yogi Babu feature prominently, alongside Sneha, Khushbu Sundar, Y. G. Mahendran and Abhinaya. Vels Film International, Avni Cinemax, Rowdy Pictures and IVY Entertainment back the film, with Hiphop Tamizha on music, Gopi Amarnath on camera and Fenny Oliver on editing. It follows the 2020 film Mookuthi Amman, directed by RJ Balaji, though the makers describe it as a standalone story. Shooting began with a muhurat in Chennai on 6 March 2025 and wrapped in December 2025.
