Rekhachithram (2025)

Rekhachithram is a 2025 Malayalam mystery crime film directed by Jofin T. Chacko. It opens on a night in 1985, when two boys watch four men remove a body from a house. In the present day, wealthy businessman Rajendran (Sidhique) takes his own life in a forest near Malakkappara after a live broadcast. Police officer Vivek Gopinath (Asif Ali) takes up the case and digs up a female skeleton wearing an anklet, but the investigation reaches a dead end. The trail leads back to the 1985 shoot of Bharathan's Kathodu Kathoram, whose real production forms the backdrop of the story. Anaswara Rajan plays Rekha Pathrose, and Manoj K. Jayan, Saikumar, Harisree Ashokan, Indrans and Jagadish are also in the cast, with Mammootty appearing as himself. The film follows Jofin T. Chacko's The Priest (2021). Kavya Film Company and Ann Mega Media produce it, Mujeeb Majeed composes the music after replacing Rahul Raj, Appu Prabhakar is the cinematographer and Shameer Muhammed edits. Shot in Fort Kochi and Malakkappara, Rekhachithram released in theatres in January 2025 and streams on SonyLIV.
