Why Malayalis are watching OM
Mammootty in Tamil: OM is reported to be Mammootty's first Tamil film since Peranbu (2019), as per India Today and Filmfare. The makers have not said this themselves.
Indrans: Malayalam favourite Indrans is in the cast, though his role is still under wraps.
The November 20 clash: OM opens on the same day as Dulquer Salmaan's Telugu film Aakasamlo Oka Tara, directed by Pavan Sadineni, which also releases in dubbed versions including Malayalam. Its date is official. Some outlets have framed it as a father versus son clash at the box office.
Release date
OM was earlier set for October 16 and moved to November 20, as reported by Variety India, to avoid a clash with Jailer 2. The film now releases worldwide on November 20.
