Saiju Kurup's crime thriller Aaram has completed 25 days in theatres, and the makers have marked it with a success teaser. The video, released on the film's music label 123Musix, strings together reactions from audiences in theatres.

Directed by Rajeesh Parameswaran, Aaram follows an investigation into a death, with Saiju Kurup as the police officer leading it. The turns the case takes as it moves along drive the story.

No streaming date yet

SonyLIV picked up Aaram's digital rights before the theatrical release, and the film will stream on the platform only after its theatrical run ends, reports suggest. No streaming date has been announced.

Cast and crew

Siddique, Askar Ali, Anju Kurian and Sudheesh are in the cast, along with Shaheen Siddique and Manoj K U. Vishnu Ramachandran wrote Aaram. Jithu Damodar handled the cinematography, V Saajan was the editor, and Rohit Gopalakrishnan composed the music.

Dr Junais Babu Good Hope and Dr Abdul Hameed Good Hope produced Aaram under the Good Hope Production and Distribution banner. Rovaan Entertainments handled the theatrical release through Goodfellas.

Release and the role

Aaram opened in theatres on September 25, 2026. Saiju Kurup plays CI Anto Eapen, the officer who leads the investigation, and the film is pitched as an investigative crime thriller.

Saiju Kurup's lead run

Saiju Kurup made his debut as the lead in T Hariharan's Mayookham (2005), which was also Mamta Mohandas's first film. For years after that he was better known in supporting and comic parts, most famously as Arakkal Abu in Midhun Manuel Thomas's Aadu films.

His recent work has put him back in the lead. In 2024, he made his web-series debut with SonyLIV's Jai Mahendran, playing a deputy tahsildar, and turned producer with Bharathanatyam, which found a bigger audience on streaming than in theatres. A police role in a crime thriller is a new kind of part for him as a lead.

The SonyLIV link

SonyLIV is a familiar home for Saiju after Jai Mahendran, so Aaram's move to the platform continues that partnership. Until a date is announced, the film is available only in theatres, where it has now run for 25 days.
