Ram Charan’s upcoming rural sports drama Peddi has made a strong start to its overseas bookings, crossing $100,000 in North American pre-sales within four hours of the window opening. It’s a quick result that points to the actor’s global following in the years since RRR.
The figure set a record for the fastest film to reach $100,000 in pre-sales, ahead of the previous mark held by Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which had taken $82,000 over a 24-hour period.
A wide overseas rollout
Distributor Prathyangira Cinemas has lined up more than 950 premiere shows across North America, with releases also planned in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Australia and other markets. As more booking windows open, the pre-sales numbers are expected to grow. The promotion so far — two songs, two glimpses and a set of posters — has built solid buzz, with the trailer still to come.
Buchi Babu Sana’s film
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is pitched as a commercial entertainer with strong rural roots and a cast drawn from several industries, making it a pan-Indian release. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, the film has locked its final edit and is wrapping up post-production as the team prepares for nationwide promotions.
