Mammootty has two films coming in the next five weeks. OM: Chapter 1 Udhiram, The Blood Wood opens on November 20, and Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Padayaatra follows on December 4. Here is where each of his upcoming films stands.
OM: in theatres on November 20
OM: Chapter 1 is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, with music by Sai Abhyankkar. Mammootty shares the screen with Dhanush, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, Naseeruddin Shah and Indrans. Our OM cast guide has more on the ensemble.
Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios produce the film with Azmat Jagmag, according to Times Now and Kerala Kaumudi. Sreyas Srinivasan and Sandesh Agrawal are co-producers, as the same reports say. AGS Cinemas holds the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights and is not a producer.
OM was first set for October 16. Dhanush moved it to avoid a clash with Jailer 2 and kept it away from Scene's Diwali release, as Kerala Kaumudi reported. The film marks Mammootty's return to Tamil cinema after Peranbu (2019), as Cinema Express wrote on October 31.
In Kerala, the film will be distributed by Binu George Alexander. We covered that deal in our OM Kerala rights story.
Padayaatra: in theatres on December 4
Mammootty announced the date himself on X on October 21.

Mammootty Kampany produces the film, and Wayfarer Films handles the Kerala distribution, as Asianet reported. Adoor wrote the script with K.V. Mohan Kumar. Mujeeb Majeed composes the music, and Shehnad Jalal is the cinematographer. Indrans, Grace Antony, Jagadish, Alencier Ley Lopez and Madhupal are in the cast, The Times of India reported.
Mammootty's upcoming movies at a glance

After Padayaatra
Mela is Mammootty Kampany's ninth production, directed by Nithish Sahadev of Falimy fame, as The Hindu and Cinema Express reported. Vishnu Vijay composes the music, and the title and first look came out on September 7. Asianet counts Padayaatra as the banner's eighth film.
Mattancherry Mafia, directed by Khalid Rahman, has Mammootty with Asif Ali and Naslen, as The Hindu reported from Mammootty's title poster. Neither film has an official date.
Mammootty's last lead role was in Patriot, which released earlier this year, according to The Times of India. Our December 2026 Malayalam releases guide lists everything else coming that month.
Our take
Two releases two weeks apart, one a Tamil star vehicle and one an Adoor drama, show the range Mammootty still chases. OM brings him to a wide Tamil audience, and Padayaatra brings back one of Malayalam cinema's most respected pairings.
