M. Padmakumar
Hindi cinema is new territory for M. Padmakumar. Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak, starring Sunny Deol, remakes his own Malayalam film Joseph. Its teaser is out, and it is scheduled to reach theatres on 20 November. A Malayalam director who also has screenwriting credits, Padmakumar learned the craft by assisting several established directors before taking charge of a film of his own. That first independent project was Ammakilikkoodu, released in 2003. Vaasthavam (2006), Shikkar (2010), Jalam (2015), Joseph (2018) and Mamangam (2019) are the films he is most associated with.
