Joseph (2018)
Joseph is a 2018 Malayalam crime thriller directed by M. Padmakumar and written by Shahi Kabir. Joju George plays Joseph Parekkatil, a retired police officer who leads a lonely life, separated from his wife Stella (Athmiya). When an elderly couple is found murdered, SP Venugopal (Anil Murali) asks Joseph to investigate. Manu, the milkman, was the first to find the scene and alert the police; Joseph questions the people who were present, decides that Manu is the killer and arrests him. Malavika Menon plays Joseph's daughter Dayana and Dileesh Pothan plays Stella's new husband Peter, while Irshad and Sudhi Koppa appear as Joseph's friends, with Nedumudi Venu, Madhuri Braganza and Rajesh Sharma also in the cast. Shahi Kabir drew on his own real-life experience for some scenes, including the double crime scene that opens the film. Joju George produced it under Appu Pathu Pappu Production, Ranjin Raj composed the music and Manesh Madhavan was the cinematographer. Joseph released in November 2018, ran for 125 days in theatres and was remade in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
