Director Nissam Basheer’s action thriller I, Nobody is heading for a worldwide release in July 2026. Pitched as a gritty survival drama, it marks a shift for Basheer, who earned acclaim for his psychological thriller Rorschach, and is being set up as a pan-Indian release with screens lined up across markets.
The story follows an ordinary man, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is suddenly accused by the authorities of pulling off an elaborate bank heist. The film tracks his ordeal as he is pushed to the edge over a crime he insists he didn’t commit. Parvathy Thiruvothu plays the female lead, pairing two of Malayalam cinema’s most respected performers.
Five big action set-pieces
What has caught the trade’s attention is the scale of the action. The team spent 32 days shooting stunt work alone — unusual for a film of this kind — across five distinct action set-pieces. The choreography was handled by international action director Yannick Ben with stunt master Kalai Kingson, while Amith Jolly designed the vehicle chase sequences.
On the technical side, Jakes Bejoy composed the soundtrack and score, with a multilingual audio mix expected to be one of the film’s highlights. I, Nobody releases simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, and is already seeing strong distribution interest in neighbouring states ahead of the summer holidays.
