Mayan (2026)

Mayan is an upcoming Malayalam mystery thriller directed by Jithin K Jose, who wrote the screenplay with Rafi. Jayasurya leads the film, and its motion poster hints, without official confirmation, that he plays a police officer facing an unseen force. The makers present it as a dark mystery with fantasy elements, built around a worldwide network of ancient black-magic rituals and reportedly drawing on the Kerala ritual known as vipareetha aaraadhana. The title carries a 'Chapter One' tag in franchise style. Nyla Usha and Vijay Babu are also in the cast. Magic Moon Productions, the banner behind Ordinary and Anarkali, calls Mayan its third project. Jithin K Jose comes to it after Kalamkaval and reunites with much of that film's crew; Faisal Ali is the cinematographer, Mujeeb Majeed composes the songs and background score, and Praveen Prabhakar edits. Filming began with a schedule in Russia, with Europe planned and a later schedule in Kerala. A release date has not been confirmed.
