A big-screen superhero for the Minnal Murali banner
Cosmic Samson is the 10th production from Sophia Paul's Weekend Blockbusters, the banner behind Minnal Murali. That superhero film went straight to Netflix in December 2021, making this the banner's first superhero film made for theatres. Vlad Rimburg, who worked on Minnal Murali, handles the action again.
Sandeep Pradeep plays a pizza delivery agent with superpowers. Cosmic Samson is his next lead after Padakkalam and Eko, and he was also in Alappuzha Gymkhana. Mukesh plays his father. In the August teaser, Sandeep's character listens to Ekaantha Chandrike from In Harihar Nagar, a film Mukesh starred in, before his father calls him home.
Moved into a busy November
Earlier promotional material had pointed to an October release, so the film now arrives about a month later. November is already crowded. Ramayana: Rise of a Legend opens on November 5 and Bachelor Party D'eux on November 19.
The film was earlier reported to release in five languages, but the new post does not mention them.
