Ramayana: Rise of a Legend (2026)
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is an upcoming Hindi film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and the first part of a two-film adaptation of Valmiki's Ramayana. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Yash plays Ravana. Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, with Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha. Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor and Shobana are also part of the cast. A second trailer is reported to portray Rama as a human being rather than a god. The film is a mythological epic that relies heavily on visual effects, handled by DNEG, and it is set to release in IMAX and premium 3D formats. Namit Malhotra produces the film, which brings A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer together on a soundtrack for the first time. The first part is slated for release in November 2026, and the second part is planned for Diwali 2027.
