Where the figure came from
Producer Namit Malhotra had earlier spoken of ₹4,000 crore, and the number had drawn debate online. At the Bengaluru event, Yash said a confident figure matters when an Indian film is presented to audiences abroad. Sony Pictures is reportedly the film's global distributor.
The first part, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, opens worldwide on November 5 in theatres, IMAX and premium large formats, the makers have confirmed on X. Reports suggest the second part is planned for Diwali 2027.
From Rocky to Ravana, and producer
Yash became a pan-India name as Rocky in the KGF films. In Ramayana he plays Ravana and is also a producer, through his company Monster Mind Creations, alongside Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios. Nitesh Tiwari directs, with Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
The Malayalam connection
The makers released a Malayalam trailer on October 15, with a full Malayalam voice-over.
