Kunchacko Boban and producer Ashiq Usman are teaming up for the fifth time. Ashiq Usman Productions announced the new film on Instagram on November 2, 2026, the actor's birthday, calling it "our fifth film with our dearest Kunchacko Boban."
The post adds that the film comes "after the sensational Anjaam Pathiraa" and is "directed by George Jacob, marking his directorial debut." It ends with birthday wishes for "our chocolate boy of Mollywood."

What the announcement poster says
The poster is a title card with no image of the star. It reads "Ashiq Usman presents Kunchacko Boban" over a large "Prod No 22" in a cloud of dust. The credits list George Jacob as director, Ashiq Usman as producer, and Vivek Achu and Aparnna Daas as writers. The caption's hashtag, productionno22, confirms that this is the banner's 22nd production.
The second image in the post is a selfie led by Kunchacko with four members of the team. The title, the rest of the cast and the shooting dates have not been announced.

The four earlier films
The caption names only Anjaam Pathiraa. Cinema Express lists the other three, and the film credits for each name Ashiq Usman as producer. The full run of Kunchacko and Ashiq Usman films:

Anjaam Pathiraa, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, is the best known of them. The 2020 thriller cast Kunchacko as criminologist Anwar Hussain, who helps the police track a serial killer.
When will it start?
Filming will begin after Athimanoharam, the banner's Christmas release with Mohanlal and director Tharun Moorthy, according to Mathrubhumi. That film opens on December 24, so the new project is unlikely to roll before the new year. A birthday of updates
The announcement was one of two Kunchacko updates on his birthday. Martin Prakkat Films also fixed the release of Hail Mary for November 26, as covered in our Hail Mary release date story.
Before Hail Mary, he plays Dheeraj Prabhu in Amal Neerad's Bachelor Party D'eux, which is reported for November 19. He also has Nere Chovva with Manju Warrier and 40 Days of House Party in the pipeline.
