Shalini Ajith Kumar's first film as a producer is officially under way. Brave Hearts Production, her banner, held the pooja for Ajith Kumar's DareDevil on November 2 and shared the photos on X that afternoon.
"The Pooja ceremony of #Daredevil was held today, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter," the post reads. The photos show Shalini at the ceremony in a blue saree in front of the film's first look backdrop, and posing with the crew.
Unni Mukundan in the frame
For Malayali viewers, the biggest news came in a second post from the banner, which tagged the cast and crew. Unni Mukundan is tagged in the official pooja post, along with Sreeleela, Parthiban and Sunil. The makers have not announced his role.
Director Adhik Ravichandran had earlier named Sreeleela, Prabhu, Sunil and Parthiban as part of the cast in an interview, Cinema Express reported. Unni's name did not come up in those reports.
DareDevil: what is confirmed
Adhik Ravichandran writes and directs the film, and Anirudh Ravichander composes the music, as credited on the official posters. Cinematographer Abinandhan Ramanujam, editor Vijay Velukutty and stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar are also tagged in the official pooja post.
The title was announced on August 3, and the first look, released on September 16, showed Ajith in a white suit on a red chair with dice in hand. That post said filming would begin on November 2. The regular shoot is reported to begin in Hyderabad from November 12, according to Cinema Express.

Shalini, the Malayalam star
Before she became a producer, Shalini was one of Malayalam cinema's best loved faces. She first appeared in Aadyathe Anuraagam (1983), and her breakthrough came the same year with Fazil's Ente Mamattukkuttiyammakku, which won her the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist.
She returned as a lead in Fazil's Aniyathipravu (1997), opposite debutant Kunchacko Boban. The pair went on to Niram and Prem Poojari in 1999. Here is Oru Raajamalli, the Ouseppachan song from Aniyathipravu, from Sony Music Malayalam's official upload.
In Tamil, she starred in Kadhalukku Mariyadhai (1997), Fazil's remake of Aniyathipravu, with Vijay. She starred opposite Ajith in Saran's Amarkalam (1999), and the two married in April 2000. Her last film was Piriyadha Varam Vendum (2001).
