Nayanthara Malayalam Movies: Every Film and Where to Watch

Short answer: Nayanthara has 16 Malayalam credits on the reported list, from her 2003 debut to an upcoming film with Nivin Pauly. Most of the older titles stream on ManoramaMAX or Sun NXT, and a few could not be traced to any major platform as of Nov 2, 2026.

She is from Thiruvalla, and her film career began in Malayalam before Tamil made her a star. This guide goes film by film, with the year, the director, the lead co-star and where each one streams. Directors and years come from a reported filmography list, and we cross-checked them against the platform pages where we could.

Nayanthara Malayalam movies: quick facts

Malayalam films on the list: 16, including two cameos and one upcoming film
First film: Manassinakkare (2003), with Jayaram
Most frequent co-star: Mammootty, in five films
Latest release: Patriot (2026)
Upcoming: Dear Students, in Malayalam and Tamil

Next in cinemas: Mookuthi Amman 2 on Nov 6, reportedly with a Malayalam version

1. Manassinakkare (2003)

Sathyan Anthikad directed the film that started it all, with Jayaram in the lead. She came in as a newcomer and left with a career.

Where to watch: ManoramaMAX (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Watch it to see where she began. It is a gentle Sathyan Anthikad family film, and she fits into it without any of the star weight she carries now.

2. Vismayathumbathu (2004)

Fazil directed this one, and it paired her with Mohanlal for the first time.

Where to watch: not on a major platform we could confirm (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: A rare chance to see her in a Fazil film this early. It is worth hunting down if you like the director's softer, stranger side.

3. Natturajavu (2004)

Shaji Kailas directed, and Mohanlal led again, which made it her second film with him in the same year.

Where to watch: Sun NXT (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: This is a Shaji Kailas mass film first and a Nayanthara film second. Go in for Mohanlal and the energy of the genre.

4. Thaskara Veeran (2005)

Pramod Pappan directed, and this was her first film opposite Mammootty.

Where to watch: ManoramaMAX (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: A straightforward star vehicle. It matters more as the start of her long run with Mammootty than as a film on its own.

5. Rappakal (2005)

Kamal directed, with Mammootty in the lead, and it was her second film with him that year.

Where to watch: ManoramaMAX (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Of her early Malayalam work, this is the easiest to recommend for a family evening. Kamal keeps it warm and simple.

6. Body Guard (2010)

Siddique directed, with Dileep in the lead.

Where to watch: not on a major platform we could confirm for the Malayalam version (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Her return to Malayalam after the Tamil years. It is light and familiar, and it shows how comfortable she had become in front of the camera.

7. Elektra (2010)

Shyamaprasad directed, with Prakash Raj and Manisha Koirala in the cast. It is the odd one out on this list.

Where to watch: not on a major platform we could confirm (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: The boldest choice of her Malayalam career. If you only know her from mass films, this is the one that will surprise you.

8. Bhaskar the Rascal (2015)

Siddique directed again, and Mammootty led. This is the film many younger viewers know her from in Malayalam.

Where to watch: Sun NXT (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Easy, crowd pleasing and built for repeat TV watches. She and Mammootty make a relaxed pair here.

9. Puthiya Niyamam (2016)

A. K. Sajan directed, with Mammootty in the lead once more.

Where to watch: ManoramaMAX (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Her strongest Malayalam performance, in our view. The film gives her real weight to carry, and she carries it.

10. Love Action Drama (2019)

Dhyan Sreenivasan made his directorial debut with this one, and Nivin Pauly played the lead.

Where to watch: JioHotstar (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: The most fun she has had in a Malayalam film. Pick this if you want something light on a weeknight.

11. Nizhal (2021)

Appu N. Bhattathiri directed, with Kunchacko Boban in the lead.

Where to watch: Prime Video (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: A smaller, quieter film than most on this list. It is a good pick if you prefer mood over noise.

12. Gold (2022)

Alphonse Puthren directed, with Prithviraj in the lead.

Where to watch: Prime Video, listed as Gold (Malayalam) (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Watch it for Alphonse Puthren's style more than for her screen time. It plays best if you know his earlier films.

13. Patriot (2026)

Mahesh Narayanan directed this big ensemble film, which brings Mammootty and Mohanlal together, with Nayanthara in the cast.

Where to watch: not on a major platform we could confirm (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Her biggest Malayalam canvas so far. It is also the only film on this list where she shares the frame with both superstars.

14. The cameos: Twenty:20 (2008) and Life of Josutty (2015)

She appears in a song in Joshiy's Twenty:20. She also has a cameo in Jeethu Joseph's Life of Josutty, which starred Dileep.

Where to watch Twenty:20: Sun NXT (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Where to watch Life of Josutty: Sun NXT (as of Nov 2, 2026)
Our take: Neither is a reason to watch on its own. Both are fun to spot if you are going through her work in order.

The song from Twenty:20:

15. Coming up: Dear Students

Dear Students is her next Malayalam film, made in Malayalam and Tamil, and it reunites her with Nivin Pauly after Love Action Drama. No release date has been announced yet.

Next in cinemas: Mookuthi Amman 2

Her next release is not Malayalam, but Kerala audiences will get it. Mookuthi Amman 2, directed by Sundar C, opens on Nov 6 in five languages including Malayalam, as reported by The Indian Express. Bhavana Release has the Kerala rights.

The first Mookuthi Amman streams on JioHotstar (as of Nov 2, 2026). Here is the official World of Mahasakthi video from Vels:
