Rajesh Madhavan shares the screen with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2. He appears in the film's dance number "Ala Bolelo", and his partner, assistant director Deepthi Karat, marked the moment on Instagram with photos from the set.

"For someone who never really dared to dream big in movies, this is WAY, WAY BEYOND A DREAM," she wrote. She also described how dancers and artists on the set broke into applause every time Rajinikanth walked in.
From casting director to a Rajinikanth film
Rajesh, who comes from Kasaragod, made his acting debut with a small role in Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016). He went on to work as an assistant director on Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017) and Kumbalangi Nights (2019).
His big turn came with Nna Thaan Case Kodu (2022). He was the film's casting director, but ended up playing Sureshan when the director, Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, asked him to step into the role. The character got its own spin-off in 2024, Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hrudayahariyaya Pranayakadha, with Rajesh in the lead.
Two releases coming up
