A behind-the-scenes picture from Jailer 2 has put Suraj Venjaramoodu in an unexpected spot: the edge of someone else's photo.
Action choreographer Chethan D'Souza shared a set of promotion pictures on Instagram under the title "JAILER 2 - Diaries". Each picture carries its own caption. The one with Ramya Krishnan reads "Photo bombing by your favourite", and in it, Suraj peeks in from between the people posing, reports said. That frame is the one now making the rounds online.

The rest of the set is just as playful. D'Souza captioned his picture with Rajinikanth "Caption?! I will leave it to your imagination". Vidya Balan's is "Beauty and the Beast", and SJ Suryah's is "Power House". Suraj gets a frame of his own too, captioned "My chillers".
The light mood is a contrast to the part Suraj plays on screen. He is the villain in Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2, which opens on October 15 with Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The film logged ₹1.61 crore in Kerala pre-sales in the first hour, as our pre-sales tracker shows.
Ramya Krishnan and Rajinikanth
Ramya Krishnan's pairing with Rajinikanth goes back to Padayappa (1999), where she played the antagonist Neelambari. She later played Sivagami in Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). In Jailer (2023), she played Vijayalakshmi, Muthuvel Pandian's wife, and she returns for the sequel.
Suraj off screen and on
Suraj began in comedy before moving into acclaimed dramatic roles. He won the National Film Award for Best Actor for Perariyathavar, sharing it with Rajkumar, and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 2019 for Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 and Vikruthi. He made his Tamil debut with Veera Dheera Sooran (2025). In Jailer 2, he plays the villain Dileep, a look created with prosthetics by Aakar FX Studioz.
The photobomb picture is a reminder of the comic timing that first made him popular in Malayalam, before the villain role took over the conversation around his Jailer 2 part.
