Adra Parama: who is behind the song
Rapper and lyricist Arivu sings Adra Parama, and Udhay has written the lyrics. Jen Martin composes the music, and the poster bills the film as "A Jen Martin musical". The studio has not yet given a time for the song launch or named the music label.
Raawadi is Basil's Tamil debut as a lead
Basil, who directed Minnal Murali and has become one of Malayalam cinema's busiest actors, is not new to Tamil screens. He had a cameo in Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi earlier this year, which Sivakarthikeyan confirmed at the film's Kochi event in January, Cinema Express reported. Basil played an Army major in it. Raawadi is the first Tamil film in which he plays a lead.
The Hindu and Cine Messenger describe Raawadi as a Tamil and Malayalam bilingual. The makers have not yet announced a Kerala distributor or a separate date for the Malayalam version.
He shares the lead with LK Akshay Kumar, who was seen in the Tamil film Sirai. Akshay is the son of producer SS Lalit Kumar, who backs Raawadi under Seven Screen Studio. LK Vishnu Kumar is the co-producer.
The cast also includes Jaffer Sadiq, Noble K James, Shariq Hassan, Arunachaleswaran PA, Aishwarya Sharma, John Vijay and Sathyan.
Vignesh Vadivel writes and directs
Debutant Vignesh Vadivel has written and directed the film. Cinema Express reports that he earlier assisted Abbas A Rahmath on Fight Club (2023) and has made ad films.
The crew includes:
- Music: Jen Martin
- Cinematography: Leon Britto
- Editing: Barath Vikraman
- Production design: PS Hariharan
- Producer: SS Lalit Kumar, Seven Screen Studio
- Co-producer: LK Vishnu Kumar
The Hindu reported that the makers first planned a summer release when they unveiled the title glimpse in January, and that Anirudh Ravichander launched that video, which introduced Basil, Akshay and their friends as a college gang. The team then locked the December 24 date on September 21 with a poster and a short video, captioned "Ooru side boys வராங்க... இனி Gujilimasthu தான்". Cine Messenger reports that much of the film was shot in Chennai and Hogenakkal.
A crowded Christmas for Malayali actors
Raawadi joins a busy December 24. Anna Ben's Tamil romantic comedy Coimbatore Mappillaii has the same date, and Rajisha Vijayan's Thagappan with Jiiva is also lined up for Christmas. In Malayalam, Mohanlal's Athimanoharam has a Christmas release too.
Before that, Naslen makes his Tamil debut opposite Suriya in Scene, which opens on November 6.
The trailer date for Raawadi has not been announced yet. Simply Mollywood will update this story when Seven Screen Studio shares it.
