Roshan Basheer is reuniting with writer-director Bijoy P.I. for Band of Brothers, a drama thriller from Vanimahal Creations. The first look poster is out, and Roshan shares top billing with Rahul Rajagopal.

Film: Band of Brothers

Writer and director: Bijoy P.I.

Producer: Vanimahal Creations

Cast: Roshan Basheer, Rahul Rajagopal, Bibin Joseph, VK Baiju, Varun Thilak, Nobi Thariyan

Background score: Gopi Sundar

Music: Sanjeev Krishnan

Cinematography: Rajkumar Bhaskaran

Editor: Ratnaraj Radhakrishnan

Five years after Vincent and the Pope

This is Roshan's second lead role for Bijoy. The first was Vincent and the Pope (2021), a revenge thriller Bijoy wrote and directed, also produced by Vanimahal Creations. It released on OTT platforms on August 6, 2021, with Roshan as Vincent, a hitman, and newcomer Reas Abdulrahim as a taxi driver.

Some of that team is back. Sanjeev Krishnan, who scored Vincent and the Pope, composes the songs this time, while Gopi Sundar handles the background score. Akhil Geethanand, the cinematographer on the earlier film, is executive producer.

Still Varun Prabhakar

For most viewers, Roshan is still Varun Prabhakar, the son of IG Geetha Prabhakar in Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam (2013). He appeared only in the first film, but the case around Varun stayed at the centre of Drishyam 2.

Band of Brothers gives him a lead role in a thriller of his own.

What the poster shows

The poster shows a man in a white shirt and dark trousers, holding a rifle, his head wrapped in grey cloth that blows out in the wind. Behind him are bare trees, an old house and a red car.

The text beside him reads "Son, forgive them, for they know not what they do" and credits it to "Mathew John 23:34". The familiar line from Luke 23:34 begins with "Father", so the poster has swapped in "Son".

There is one more detail in the title. The letter D in "Band" carries the small silhouette of a howling wolf.

The rest of the cast

Bibin Joseph, known on social media as Actor Cop, also plays a key role. VK Baiju, Varun Thilak, Nobi Thariyan, and Nidhi Rajan are among the others in the cast.
