Kunchacko Boban will play the lead in the first film of debutant director Abhijith, according to reports. There is no official announcement yet from the makers or the actor.
Reports suggest Panorama Studios will produce the film, with Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak as producers, and Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series Films will present it with Panorama. Filming is reportedly planned to begin in Kannur in November, and casting is being finalised.
Abhijith has worked as an assistant to directors Jis Joy and Dinjith Ayyathan.
A second Panorama film
If confirmed, this would be Kunchacko's second film with Panorama Studios after Unmadham. Directed by editor Kiran Das and written by Shahi Kabir, the psychological thriller, presented by T-Series and Panorama, reached theatres on July 31, 2026. Kunchacko played a police constable who reopens a long-forgotten case, opposite Lijomol Jose.
What's next for Kunchacko
His next release is Hail Mary, directed by debutant Vishnu Revikumar and based on a story by GR Indugopan. Martin Prakkat Films and Green Room Productions produce it, and Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anu Sithara, Jagadish, Vinay Forrt and Suhasini Maniratnam are in the cast. Filming wrapped on August 31.
