Chaithra Praveen, a dentist from Kozhikode, has made her Tamil debut with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. Her part is a single shot in the first half. She appears in a pale yellow saree alongside the character played by Ramachandran Durairaj.

From dentistry to films
Chaithra started acting with Vinu Sreedhar's Ellam Settanu (2022). She then appeared in Three Nights (2023) and AM Siddique's LLB (2024).
Nellikkampoyil Night Riders is also among her credits. Alongside films, she works as a model in advertisements.
One shot in a big Malayali cast
Chaithra joins an unusually long Malayali cast list. Mohanlal returns as Mathew, Suraj Venjaramoodu plays the villain Dileep, and Hakim Shahjahan, Sujith Shanker and Sunil Sukhada are also in the film.
Others have had their moment already. Rajesh Madhavan and Shamna Kasim are in the Ala Bolelo song, and Kottayam Nazeer shares the screen with Rajinikanth.
For Chaithra, the one shot is her first film outside Malayalam.
Jailer 2 at a glance
Jailer 2 opened in theatres on October 15, 2026. Nelson Dilipkumar directs the sequel, Sun Pictures produces it and Anirudh Ravichander composes the music. Sree Gokulam Movies released the film in Kerala.
Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian from Jailer (2023), which released on August 10, 2023, and later streamed on Prime Video. That film also had Mohanlal as Mathew, Shiva Rajkumar as Narasimha and Vinayakan as the villain Varman.
A path many Malayali actors take
Chaithra's career so far has been in Malayalam. Ellam Settanu, Three Nights and LLB came out over three years, and Nellikkampoyil Night Riders is also among her credits. A Rajinikanth film is a big first step outside Kerala, even in a single shot, and Jailer 2's long list of Malayali actors shows how closely the Tamil and Malayalam industries now work together.
Her Instagram post shows the look from the film: the pale yellow saree and the scene with Ramachandran Durairaj's character.
Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Vinayakan were all part of the first film's Kerala and Karnataka appeal.
